Lady Cranes coach David Mutaka has named his Dubai squad. Mary Kyoita, Josephine Namayega and Fortunate Irankunda who were part of the team that qualified for the world cup did not make it onto the world cup squad. Agnes Nantongo breaks onto the 7's team for the first time to replace Fortunate, while Uganda's track queen Justine Bayigga replaces Mary Kyoita on the wing. Rachel Kakaire makes a return onto the 7's team after missing the qualifiers at the expense of Josephine Namayega who failed to recover from an ankle injury sustained during training last year.
