Elgon Cup to go on despite EABL eleventh hour pull out

East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) has stopped sponsoring the annual epic Elgon Cup clashes between arch-rivals Kenya and Uganda. Despite the withdrawal by EABL the event between Uganda and Kenya will go on as planned. Uganda will this week send both the Rugby Cranes and the Lady Cranes to Nairobi and host the Kenyan teams 2 weeks later. URU chairman, William Blick, said that both URU and KRFU were looking for other sponsors and that there were plans to revive the East African Rugby Union.
